Created for you.

Centre College established CentreWorks in 2020 to work with the city of Danville, Boyle, and the seven-county region to help build a resilient community. Why? Because resilient communities create opportunities for everyone: startups; social enterprises; community initiatives; and pathways for personal growth. Concurrently, CentreWorks will be providing unparalleled opportunities for Centre College students working side-by-side with community members. These students along with those from BCTC and local high schools will be given an early start to learning and applying the entrepreneurial mindset and practicing a progressive innovation process that is a human-centered approach (HCA).

Our Mission To Build A Stronger Community

CentreWorks serves as a catalyst to establish resilience and enable growth of Kentucky’s famed Bluegrass region. Our programming available to the entire region, has been custom-designed to provide collaboration, ideation, education, mentoring, skills enhancement, and investment opportunities. At CentreWorks we understand the value of including all perspectives and welcome all people regardless of ability, age, background, ethnicity, race, faith, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation. CentreWorks acts to bridge gaps that exist within our greater community by providing a physical and virtual space where individuals can connect and proudly take ownership in their dedication to community engagement, growth, and collaboration. Utilizing empathy, collaboration, and inclusion to address complex civic problems, CentreWorks challenges the community to employ the human-centered approach (HCA) and the entrepreneurial mindset. CentreWorks accomplishes this through the practice and hands-on learning of the entrepreneurial mindset. That mindset includes empathy, curiosity, comfort with risk, growth through failures, resilience, grit, and perseverance.

A Catalyst For Change

Ranging from coursework to programs, area residents will find unparalleled opportunities to build their business and financial savvy, identify and address community needs and opportunities, compete for startup funding, receive professional business coaching, and much more. CentreWorks will also be a convening hub for successful entrepreneurs and angel investors to imagine, together, the next steps to grow the economy.
